Wider format rollers are said to be susceptible to bowing and thus harder to make. In fact, many manufacturers refuse to make wide-format rollers because of the hassle involved in customizing each one to customers’ requirements. We at Yamauchi, however, are not so easily deterred, and our experience and advanced technologies have enabled us to achieve stable mass-production of these tricky products. For instance, we have developed roller materials in response to customer demand for rollers with low friction coefficient. In addition, keeping component assembly processes such as the press-fitting of bearings onto shafts in-house means we can reduce the amount of assembly you have to perform.
