Rivaling the Kyoto Osadano Factory in scale, the Kanuma Factory began operation in June 1971 as Yamauchi's core domestic production base for the eastern part of Japan. It is in the Kanuma Industrial Park adjacent to the Kanuma Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. Established on a huge site of 67,000m2 are equipment-intensive modern facilities for the manufacture of high-precision products, such as production lines for shoe presses and large rolls for papermaking equipment, and a factory for producing the heat-resistant cushion materials used in press and lamination processes for printed circuit boards (CCL) and magnetic cards. The Kanuma Factory acquired ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification in March 2005.
Since the Kanuma Factory is located only 30 minutes away from Utsunomiya City by car, the Kita Kanto Sales Office was also established on the premises to conduct sales activities over the entire Tohoku region and to serve as a center for product distribution to the Tohoku region.
